Reselling the Past

LOCAL Public Eatery 274 Garry Street

I love antique stores and never miss an opportunity to enter one. Several years ago, I started taking pictures in various stores here in town and some further away. There’s always so much to explore and everything is displayed in such inviting ways.

From mundane, everyday objects like clocks or typewriters to jewellery or fancy furniture, all of these items meant something to somebody. Present day, they’re in a store with a price attached. A lot of things so useful and advanced at the time are now antiquated. Not to mention the many things that you just can’t tell what it is or what it was used for.

These things were valuable to their owners in the past. In the present, these antique store items can tell a new story with their new owners. My hope is that I can capture a part of this atmosphere in a collection of photographs.
