Prairie Thunder is an exhibition of contemporary Indigenous art by female artists of the prairies.

The title evokes the strength, power, kinship and relationships of prairie people and includes works by Cree, Métis, Anishinaabe and Dakota artists

The artworks in the exhibition highlight the power and spirit of healing generated by their relationships.

Inspired by the Metis Kitchen Table gatherings popularized by Metis curators on Treaty 1, the birthplace of the Metis Nation, Prairie Thunder is a generative site of knowledge transmission, reciprocity, resistance, and futurity.
