Stefan Ingthorsson received formal training from Emily Carr as a painter, and currently works as a graphic designer and photographer. As an artist, Stefan is passionate about comic art and fashion photography. The colour, tone and texture of fashion photography inspires Stefan’s work. His influences include Emily Soto and Paulo Roversi. Born in Canada, and having grown up in Iceland, Stefan’s work is also greatly influenced by nature.
Being a wheelchair user affords Stefan a unique position from which to photograph his subject. When shooting in the studio or in nature, he is automatically placed within intimate proximity to the subject. This closeness allows Stefan to focus on the most nuanced and intricate of details. His series of flower photos was exhibited at a gallery in Carmen, MB this summer.
