The sculpture garden surrounding the
old Hôtel-de-Ville de Saint-Boniface
has a light box that allows work from francophone artists to brighten the neighbourhood day and night. For the festival, la Maison des artist is proud to feature a piece by photographer Reza Rezai entitled “ceci n’est pas une arcade / this
is not an arcade”. The piece finds new meaning as it is set outdoors surrounded by natural elements.
Reza Rezai is a Iranian-Manitoban visual artist. His work is mainly focused on numeric and analog photography. The piece “ceci n’est pas une arcade” was created during an art residency with the Skatfell visual art centre in Seyðisfjörður, Iceland.
