October 15 – Salt Print & Cyanotype Demo with Leif Norman

Date – October 15th

Time – 1:00pm

Location – 468 Main Street

The Salt Printing process was invented by Fox Talbot in the 1840’s and is the basis of photography’s Positive / Negative system that is still in use today. It makes a lovely sepia coloured image. If you prefer a blue image, then the Cyanotype is more for you. Created by an Astronomer, Sir John Herschel, the Cyanotype was used extensively through the 20th Centre by Architects to make their Blueprints.  Various tinting and toning chemicals will be shown to change the colour of the Cyanotype.
